AbinoNutra® β-Nicotinamide Mononucleotide

Abstract false-color illustration of NMN entering the NAD synthesis pathway
NMN → NAD⁺. A conceptual visualization of the NMNAT-catalyzed step in cellular NAD⁺ biosynthesis.

The enzymatic step

NMN sits immediately upstream of NAD⁺ in the cellular salvage pathway. NMN adenylyltransferase (NMNAT) transfers an adenylyl group from ATP to NMN, forming NAD⁺. The resulting coenzyme participates in cellular energy metabolism and serves enzymes involved in maintenance and signaling. This defined biochemical step is the rationale for studying NMN as an NAD⁺ precursor.

The human research path

In an Abinopharm-affiliated randomized trial, 80 healthy middle-aged adults received placebo or one of three daily doses of AbinoNutra™ NMN for 60 days. Blood NAD concentrations were measured at baseline, day 30, and day 60; all three NMN groups rose relative to placebo. A later analysis of the same trial examined dose response and variation between participants.

Dr.Ergo® L-Ergothioneine

Dr.Ergo L-Ergothioneine cellular antioxidant visualization
Fermentation-derived L-Ergothioneine.

A complementary cellular role

NR supplies a precursor for NAD⁺ production. L-Ergothioneine follows a different route: the selective SLC22A4 transporter carries it into cells, where its stable thione chemistry helps buffer reactive species. Pairing the two brings NAD⁺ metabolism and antioxidant protection into the same daily formula without treating ergothioneine as another NAD⁺ precursor.

The Dr.Ergo® standard

Dr.Ergo® is Abinopharm’s branded L-Ergothioneine, produced through licensed full-enzymatic natural fermentation technology developed by the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Production takes place in an NSF cGMP- and HACCP-certified facility, with each batch tested against predefined specifications for identity, chemical and optical purity, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbial limits.

Nicotinamide Riboside

Nicotinamide Riboside
NR → NMN → NAD⁺ within the cellular salvage pathway.

The starting point for NAD⁺.

NR Starter provides 500 mg of nicotinamide riboside, a form of vitamin B3 used in the NAD⁺ salvage pathway. Nicotinamide riboside kinase converts NR to NMN; NMN adenylyltransferase then converts NMN to NAD⁺.

This defined sequence gives NR its central role in the formula: it supplies starting material for the body’s own NAD⁺ production rather than acting as a general stimulant.

Sunflower Lecithin

Structure around the actives.

Sunflower lecithin is a phospholipid-rich formulation component used in the NR Starter complex. Its amphiphilic molecules interact with both water- and fat-associated materials, helping disperse and organize the accompanying actives.

Its role is physical and formulation-led: sunflower lecithin supports the delivery system while NR remains the formula’s NAD⁺ precursor.

Resveratrol

A plant polyphenol selected for a complementary role.

A separate layer of support.

Resveratrol is a plant-derived polyphenol included in the NR Starter supporting complex. It is studied for its interactions with cellular stress-response and metabolic signaling pathways.

Within this formula, resveratrol has a supporting role distinct from NR: it broadens the polyphenol and antioxidant profile without serving as an NAD⁺ precursor.

Quercetin

A dietary flavonoid with a distinct supporting role.

A flavonoid with its own role.

Quercetin is a flavonoid found naturally in many fruits and vegetables. In NR Starter, it contributes a second plant-derived component to the formula’s antioxidant-focused supporting complex.

Quercetin does not replace or duplicate NR. It is included for a separate supporting function alongside resveratrol and Dr.Ergo® L-Ergothioneine.
